Last Nights Television Coverage

Like I said in my report from Wednesday's Court appearance we did have cameras in the court room and other stations said they would cover it with "file footage" below are the links to the coverage I could find online:

Regarding the above two links, I would like to address the facts that are presented in them. Both of them report that the Killer Kathleen Boland "plead not guilty" this is not what happened in court but it is leading to that point. Let me explain, if you have followed my other posts explaining what the Preliminary Hearing is you know the Court was looking for answers too the two questions:
1. Did the alleged crime occur within the court's jurisdiction?
2. Is there probable cause, to believe that the defendant committed the crime?

For those that have followed the other post you also know that the killer Ms Boland "waved her right to the Preliminary Hearing" basically told the Court she agrees that the answer to both questions is yes allowing the Court to save the time of witness coming to prove it. That is all she did in Court was wave the Preliminary Hearing this was done before a Court Commissioner and not the judge so even if she had wanted to plead in court yesterday she could not have as a plea needs to be heard by the judge.

The next court date is set for Tuesday September 16 at 8:30am before the Judge as a scheduling conference this is were the attorneys sit done and set dates for how the case will move forward she will not be in court for this, however it is possible we will learn at that time when a date will be set for a "Plea to be entered". I hope that helps clear up what really happened in Court on Wednesday. That being said the issue of how it was reported is minor and I personally a happy to see the case get as much air time a possible so we will work with what we are given and use this blog to make sure you have all the "true facts".

There was also coverage on FOX 6 that included comments that I made to the press following the Court appearance in the hall. I have not been able to find it online but will keep looking, I know it ran because I was at the Washington County Abate meeting http://www.abatewis.org/ and had just finished telling "Mikey's story" when someone in the back interrupted the next speaker and said "Look!! He's on TV" all I saw was a head shot of me talking briefly but once again Mikey's fight got the coverage it needs.
